Secret Garden Quick Verdict

This Secret Garden slot review finds a 5-reel, 25-payline video slot from Eyecon, a Playtech subsidiary, released on 16 March 2017 with medium volatility, a confirmed 9,500x maximum win and a primary bonus of 15 free games in which every win is tripled. The verdict up front: at a casino running the 95% RTP configuration it is a fair, readable classic; at one running the 93% build it is the same game with the price quietly raised.

Three independent sources corroborate the core numbers. Developer documentation at eyecon.com states the base RTP as 95% on the demo build, with 93% supplied as an alternative configuration, and SBOTOP's published betting rules describe a 95% long-term return. GamblingZone and GamblerID both record the 5x3 layout, 25 configurable lines and the 9,500x ceiling. One outlier exists: the Fortune Games review blog quotes 95.81%, a figure no other source reviewed repeats, so it is treated here as unconfirmed.

The key trigger is verifiable rather than promotional. The Free Games feature requires three Red Rose scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, confirmed in Eyecon's official game description, and the Gold Garden Lock wild doubles any payline win it completes, which is what gives the free games their route to the 9,500x ceiling.

RTP, volatility and bonus mechanics are subject to change. Verify current figures at the operator site before depositing.

Our Experience Playing Secret Garden

No verified session logs exist for this game, so any honest Secret Garden slot review has to say so plainly: Eyecon does not publish an organic bonus frequency, and none of the sources reviewed recorded one. What exists instead is review-panel sentiment. Notes at GamblingZone and GamblerID, plus the player-facing review pages at Gala Bingo and Foxy Bingo, describe a gentle base game punctuated by long waits for the scatter trigger.

The one behavioural figure available is a reported 49.8% hit frequency, carried by a single source and therefore unconfirmed. Taken at face value, close to every other spin returns something, which is exactly how the medium volatility rating presents in practice: derived from that hit rate and the 95% RTP, a £20 bankroll at £0.25 per spin covers roughly 80 spins of routine play before variance decides the session. That figure is arithmetic rather than a session forecast, and if the 49.8% number is wrong the base game will feel leaner.

Bonus payouts skew top-heavy by construction. Free games triple every win, retriggerable up to 15 times, and the wild keeps doubling inside the round, so a small share of triggered features will account for most of the bonus return. Review panels praise the retrigger potential for precisely that reason; the same panels complain that free spins can be hard to trigger, which is the cost of a bonus that concentrates value.

The player this suits stakes pennies per line and wants a calm garden theme over spectacle. The player it does not suit wants a published trigger rate before committing a bankroll, because that number is not on record anywhere in the sources reviewed.

Math Model

This Secret Garden slot review finds a base RTP of 95%, as listed in developer documentation at eyecon.com and corroborated by SBOTOP's published betting rules. Volatility is rated medium, which in bankroll terms means results cluster around expectation: a 100-spin session at £0.25 per spin stakes £25 and will typically land within a few pounds of the £23.75 expected return rather than swinging through the long dead runs that define high-volatility games.

The wrinkle is configuration. Eyecon supplies the game at 95% and at 93%, and third-party sources list operator builds at 95.44%, 95.43% and 95.40% down to 93.36% and 93%. The 95% figure is developer-listed; the operator variants are aggregator-listed, so the in-game help panel at the chosen casino is the final authority. The gap is not trivial: at 95% the expected long-term loss is £5 per £100 cycled, at 93% it is £7, a 40% larger house share for identical gameplay.

Volatility carries one unconfirmed detail: a single source reports a 49.8% hit frequency. If accurate, small line wins recycle the balance often and losses accrue slowly rather than in cliff edges, the signature feel of a medium game.

The 9,500x max win at the £50 maximum stake equates to £475,000; at the £0.25 minimum full-lines stake it equates to £2,375. In practice operator ceilings intervene: Mecca Games lists a £250,000 maximum payout, while ICE36 and Mega Casino display a top currency prize near £1,374, a figure consistent with the lower maximum stakes those sites configure. No feature buy exists, so there is no feature-buy RTP; the bonus can only be reached organically.

Bonus Features

Two features carry the entire game, a tripled-win free-games round and an opt-in gamble ladder, and a full Secret Garden slot review has to lead with the trigger mechanics because that is where the value concentrates.

Free Games (Free Spins)

Three or more Red Rose scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger 15 free games, a condition confirmed in Eyecon's official game description and repeated in the game rules published by the UK operators reviewed. The round plays at the same lines and bet per line as the triggering spin, and every win inside it is tripled.

The retrigger rule does the heavy lifting: three or more scatters inside the feature add another 15 games, and the round can retrigger up to 15 times, a ceiling specific to Eyecon's build of this game. Because the Gold Garden Lock wild doubles any payline it completes, a wild-assisted line win during free games is doubled and then tripled, paying six times its base paytable value; none of the operator reviews examined spells out that interplay, yet it is what turns an ordinary line hit into the round's real payload. The top line pay, 9,500 coins for five wilds, is worth 28,500 coins under the triple alone, and the published 9,500x maximum win is achievable inside this feature.

Gamble Bonus

The gamble triggers only by player choice after a winning spin; no symbols are involved. Two options are offered, a correct pick doubles the prize, and the gamble can be repeated up to five consecutive times, with a stated maximum prize of 3,000,000 credits.

The math is strict double-or-nothing: five consecutive correct picks multiply a win 32-fold, but one wrong pick forfeits it, and the feature adds variance without changing the underlying RTP. Its 3,000,000-credit ceiling applies to no other feature in this game, and it is the only currency cap attached to a mechanic rather than to the headline max win.

Base Game

Secret Garden plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 25 paylines configurable from 1 to 25, and for this Secret Garden slot review the base game is best read as a delivery system for two special symbols. The Gold Garden Lock wild substitutes for every symbol except the scatter, doubles the prize of any payline it completes, and is the top payer in its own right at 9,500 coins for five on a line. The Red Rose scatter pays in any position and carries the bonus trigger, so the base game's job is to keep the balance alive until three roses land.

Bets range from £0.01 to £50 per spin: £0.01 activates a single line, £0.25 covers all 25 lines at the minimum line bet, and the ceiling is operator-dependent, with several sites capping stakes at £12.50, which is 50p per line. Line count matters more than it looks, because wild doubling only pays on active lines; cutting lines to stretch a balance quietly forfeits part of the paytable. The trade-off for the calm theme is presentation: review panels call the artwork tranquil but dated, though the plain 5x3 grid stays readable on a small screen.

Eyecon lists the game as mobile-compatible on phones and tablets, and a free demo is published on the developer's site at eyecon.com/games/secret-garden, so the paytable and line settings can be checked before any deposit.

Best Casinos to Play

This Secret Garden slot review counted the game at eight verified UKGC-licensed casinos enrolled in GamStop. Only three of the eight publish an RTP setting in the sources reviewed, and the spread between them is the most important choice a player makes on this game.

Casino availability and welcome offers subject to change. Confirm current terms at each operator site.

Among the confirmed settings, Betfair Bingo runs the strongest build at 95.40%, MrQ lists 93.36%, and Mega Casino and ICE36 both run 93%. Across £1,000 of total stakes the expected difference between Betfair Bingo's configuration and a 93% build is £24, identical gameplay at a measurably worse price. Genting Casino, Mecca Games, Foxy Bingo and Gala Bingo published no RTP figure in the sources reviewed, and none of the eight published a verifiable UKGC account number or a slot-specific welcome offer; those cells are gaps in the record rather than endorsements, so confirm both directly with the operator.

A wider warning applies to every site on the list. Eyecon ships this title in more than one RTP configuration, and operators can run the reduced build without prominent disclosure, so open the in-game help panel before depositing. If the panel reads 93% where a rival site offers 95.40%, the difference comes straight out of long-term return, the pattern this Secret Garden slot review flagged in the math section above.

Similar Slots

Players who enjoy retriggerable free spins with a doubling wild may also consider the following titles.

How does this Secret Garden slot review rank them? Enchanted Prince is the closest mechanical match, sharing Eyecon's 5x3, 25-line engine, retriggerable free games and gamble ladder, but it caps out at 2,400x, so it suits players who want the same rhythm with a softer ceiling. Fluffy Favourites is the better-known Eyecon classic and the natural pick for brand familiarity, though its RTP and maximum win could not be verified from the sources reviewed. Secret Garden 2 modernises the sequel formula with a 95.30% RTP and improving symbols during free games, the obvious option for anyone who likes the theme but wants a newer build. Thunder King and Theatre of Night appear on the similarity list at slotslike.co.uk, but their developers and math models were not published in the sources reviewed, so verify both at the casino before switching. On verified numbers alone, Secret Garden holds the strongest RTP-to-ceiling combination in this set.

Is Secret Garden Worth Playing?

This Secret Garden slot review concludes that the game suits the casual session player staking pennies per line, because medium volatility, a 1p minimum line bet and a near-50% reported hit frequency keep routine play ticking while the tripled free games carry the upside.

The high-roller bankroll grinder: no. A £50 ceiling that many operators tighten to £12.50, a 95% RTP that can sink to 93% by venue, and no published bonus frequency give a volume player little to work with. The casual session player: yes, with the caveat that the visuals are plainly 2017-vintage, a complaint echoed across the player panels at Gala Bingo and Foxy Bingo. The bonus-hunter: a qualified yes. The free games triple everything, retrigger up to 15 times and stack with wild doubling, but with no feature buy and no published trigger rate the only workable approach is to bankroll for a wait.

Strengths, all grounded in verified data: a 9,500x maximum win, the largest ceiling among the Eyecon titles compared in this review, where Enchanted Prince tops out at 2,400x; 15 free games with tripled wins retriggerable up to 15 times; and a 1p-per-line entry point that keeps 25-line spins at £0.25. Weaknesses: several UK bingo sites run the reduced 93% build, quietly raising the house share, and neither a bonus frequency nor a confirmed hit rate is on record beyond one single-source figure.

Against its own stablemates the position is clear. If you want the highest verified ceiling on Eyecon's classic 25-line engine, play Secret Garden; if you prefer steadier, lower-variance sessions, Enchanted Prince offers the same mechanics at 94.99% RTP with low volatility, and if you want the theme in a newer build, Secret Garden 2 offers 95.30% RTP and improving free-game symbols.

Set a weekly spend you can afford to lose before loading Secret Garden or any slot, and pair it with a time reminder, because gentle medium-volatility games blur session length.
